1.2 These Regulations have been approved by the RAC Motor Sports Association Ltd (RACMSA) and have been allocated Championship Permit Number CH97R5322.
1.3 The Series is promoted and co-ordinated by RLE Motor Sport Promotions (REVPROM) on behalf of ANCRO.
1.4 The Organisers and Promoters reserve the right to issue additional official bulletins clarifying items in these Regulations. All such bulletins will be sent to registered Drivers, Co-Drivers and Manufacturers, by post to the address nominated on the Registration Form.
1.5 Points and positions will be published after each round, and will remain provisional for seven days from the date of posting. Any query must be made in writing, within that time, to the Series Co-ordinator, who may refer it to the Series Stewards (Articles 1.10, 9.1).
1.6 The Mintex National Rally Series will be run in accordance with the RACMSA Year Book 1997 General regulations, these Supplementary Regulations and any official bulletins issued.
1.7 Exemption from Liability: RACMSA Year Book 1997, B.9.4.1 applies.
1.8 Entry to the Series is conditional upon each competitor accepting without reservation or recourse the surrender of their rights (if any) for TV, filming, broadcast and photography collated during the Series, which may be used at the Organisers', Promoter's and Sponsor's discretion.
1.8.1 The winning crews on each event will be presented with Mintex "winners" caps. These must be worn during the Finish ceremony.
1.9 The Organisers of each qualifying round (all of National A status) retain the sole right to select and accept entries for their event and the Series Organisers, Promoter or Sponsor cannot be held responsible for the refusal of an entry. It is the competitor's responsibility to obtain event regulations and to apply for entries.
1.10 Any dispute relating to the Series will be referred to the Series Stewards, composed as follows:
1.11 Organisers of qualifying rounds will make provision for Series Categories and Classes defined in Article 5. Event Classes may be subdivided or amalgamated in accordance with the Event Supplementary Regulations, but Series Points will be allocated to the Groups and Classes in Article 5.

3.1 Hold RACMSA competition licences valid for the qualifying rounds or, for foreign competitors, a licence endorsed 'valid throughout the EU'.
3.2 Enter a vehicle included in the vehicle categories listed in article 5 and can provide, on demand, evidence of its eligibility.
3.3 Make available the specific areas on both front doors of the vehicle shown on the diagram, and display:
3.3.1 The official event logo/title.
3.3.2 The vehicle competition number.
3.3.3 The official Mintex National Rally Series logo.
3.3.4 Advertising provided by the Promoters.
3.3.5 Class and Group identification provided by the Promoters.
3.4 Make available space on the 'throat flap' of the competitors' overalls for a Mintex logo provided by the Promoters for Driver and Co-Driver and sewn or permanently fixed to this position.
3.5 No on-board cameras will be allowed without the authorisation of the Promoters and the agreement of the event Clerk of the Course. Every such installation shall be approved by the event Scrutineer. (K 42.8.10).
3.6 Advertising must comply with RACMSA General regulations E 2.24 and E 2.25.
3.6.1 No advertising or statement on the car or crew may contain offensive material.
3.7 All vehicles must comply with RACMSA Safety Regulations, including those relating to fire extinguishers (Q 3).
3.8 All competitors are reminded that vehicles must have a valid RACMSA Vehicle Log-Book which must be available at scrutineering for each qualifying round. This includes cars driven by foreign competitors (Article 3.1).
3.9 If it is desired to make an entry in the name of an organisation, firm or sponsor, or of any person who will neither drive nor co-drive, an Entrant's Licence must be obtained from the RACMSA.
3.10 Competitors are advised that information they supply will be stored on a computer retrieval system and will be used for organisational and publicity purposes for individual events and for the Mintex National Rally Series. The Organisers and Promoters regret that they are unable to accept entries and registrations from competitors who do not accept this condition.
4.2 Registration opens on the production of these Regulations and closes at the end of Documentation prior to the start of the fifth round of the Series. No points will be awarded retrospectively.
4.3 Registration fees:
A 'crew' (Driver and Co-Driver) whose registration forms are submitted
together should remit a combined Registration fee at the reduced rate
of £50.00.
Other fees are:

4.4 Once a Driver's/Co-Driver's/Manufacturer's registration form has been received and accepted it will not be possible for them to disclaim any points awarded.
4.5 A list of registered Drivers, Co-Drivers and Manufacturers will be officially displayed or available on demand on each qualifying round.
4.6 In applying for Registration competitors agree to be bound by the Regulations of the Mintex National Rally Series.
4.7 Acceptance of registration is entirely at the discretion of the Series Organisers and Promoters.

5.1.5 Two-wheel Drive Challenge
Within The Mintex National Rally Series there will be a category
to be known as the Two-Wheel Drive Challenge, open to all registered
Drivers in Category B driving normally aspirated two-wheel drive cars.

A paid and guaranteed entry in the 1997 Network Q RAC Rally of Great Britain.
6.5.2 To the highest placed Driver in the Formula 2 Category (Articles 5.1.3, 7.5) at the end of the Series:
The Mintex Formula Two Award.
£500 and product support for 1998.
6.6 The Two Wheel Drive Challenge
To the highest placed driver in the Two Wheel Drive Challenge
(Article 5.1.5)
£500 and a Trophy.
6.7 The Teleflorist Coupe des Dames
6.7.1 On each qualifying round, to the highest placed Lady Driver registered in the Ladies' category, determined on a Class Index of Performance (Article 7.7).
£250 a Teleflorist Trophy and a floral tribute.
6.7.2 At the season end, to the highest placed registered Lady Driver in the Ladies' category, determined on a Class Index of Performance (Article 7.7).
£2000 the Teleflorist Coupe des Dames and a floral tribute.
6.8 The Mintex Junior Award
Drivers born on or after 1 January 1973 are eligible to register for
this Award.
To the highest placed Driver registered for this award (Article 7.9)
£500 and The Mintex Junior Trophy.
6.9 Ford Motorsport Parts Bonus Scheme
Ford Motorsport have a generous cash bonus scheme for competitors
registered for the Series driving Group N Ford Cosworth Cars.
Details are available from Kevin Shortis who is co-ordinating the
scheme on behalf of Ford Motorsport.
Competitors registered for the scheme are required to carry
Ford Motorsport Parts Decals.
To the highest placed Driver registered for this award on each
round £1000.
To the second highest placed Driver registered for this award on each
round £750.
To the third highest placed Driver registered for this award on each
round £500.
To the fourth highest placed Driver registered for this award on each
round £250.
6.10 Manufacturers' Awards
Three separate Championships will be based on the results achieved by
registered Drivers in vehicles of registered Manufacturers.
Manufacturers must register by MAKE for these championships, e.g. Audi,
Daihatsu, Fiat, Ford, Honda, Lada, Lancia, Mazda, Mitsubishi, Nissan,
Peugeot, Rover, Skoda, Subaru, Suzuki, Toyota, Vauxhall, Volkswagen,
etc.
One registration fee per Make covers Groups A and N and Formula 2
(Articles 4.3 and 7.10).

6.11 The Dennis Hopwood Memorial Trophy
Awarded to an accredited member of the media who, in the opinion of Ancro,
has contributed most to the promotion and furtherance of
The 1997 Mintex National Rally Series.
6.12 Other awards may be made at the promoter's discretion and will be announced in bulletins.
7.1.2 Points will be allocated to registered Manufacturers only in relation to Group A, Group N and Formula Two classification on each of the seven scoring rounds.
7.1.3 Drivers, Co-Drivers and Manufacturers will count their best FIVE scores towards their final Championship scores. Ties will be resolved according to Article 8.
7.1.4 No points will be awarded to any Driver, Co-Driver or Manufacturer whose car does not carry the official Series logos or does not conform to the specified advertising and other conditions required by Article 3.
7.1.5 Registered Drivers, Co-Drivers and Manufacturers who start six qualifying rounds of the Series will receive a bonus of 10 points added to their final championship scores (7.1.3).
7.1.6 In the Overall Drivers' and Co-Drivers' categories, the bonus will be awarded regardless of what vehicle(s) have been entered. In Class or Group, each Driver or Co-Driver who has earned points on more than one Class or Group will be awarded the bonus in the Class/group nominated to the Series Co-ordinator by the registered contender before the start of the final round. The bonus can only be awarded in a Class/Group in which the contender has already scored points before the start of the final round.
7.2 Overall Drivers' and Co-Drivers' Series Awards
Points will be allocated to the first 22 registered Drivers and Co-Drivers
according to their position in Overall Classification on each qualifying
round as follows.
(It is not necessary to be classified among the first 22 in the Overall
event results in order to score Series points).

7.7 Teleflorist Coupe des Dames
Points for the Teleflorist Coupe des Dames will be awarded
on each qualifying round to the first ten lady drivers
registered in the Ladies category, determined on a "Class Index of
Performance". The calculation of this Index will be published in a Bulletin,
available on request, which will be sent to all eligible competitors.
The purpose of the Index is to enable lady competitors in all capacity
classes to compete on equal footing.

7.9 Manufacturers' Championships: Group A, Group N and Formula 2
Manufacturers' points will be awarded to the first twelve eligible Makes in
each Category (Article 6.10), but only in respect of
the highest placed vehicle of that Make in that Category;
other placings achieved by eligible vehicles of the same Make will be ignored
and cannot be reassigned to another Make.
(It is not necessary for a Make to be classified among the first 12 in
Gp A, Gp N or Formula 2 in order to score points).
Points will be awarded only if both the Driver and the Make are registered. The results of un-registered Drivers and Makes will be ignored in the allocation of points. Manufacturers will accumulate points separately in Group A, Group N and Formula 2; points earned in different Categories will not be added together.

8.2 Considering only the 5 (five) best scores, apply tests 8.2.1 and 8.2.2 below in that order.
8.2.1 In favour of the Driver, Co-Driver, or Manufacturer with the greatest number of maximum scores.
8.2.2 In favour of the Driver, Co-Driver, or Manufacturer with the greatest number of second highest scores, failing that the third highest scores and so on until the tie is broken.
8.3 Should the provision of Article 8.2 above fail to resolve the tie then Article 8.2.1 and 8.2.2 in that order shall be applied to the allocation of scores achieved from ALL qualifying rounds.
8.4 Should the provision of Article 8.2 or Article 8.3 above not resolve the tie, the award shall be given in favour of the Driver, Co-Driver or Manufacturer with the highest allocation of points from their first scoring round.
8.5 Should the provision of Article 8.2 or Article 8.3 or Article 8.4 above not resolve the tie, then consideration will be given to the overall results of the first event to be run in the series, in favour of the Driver, Co-Driver or Manufacturer who achieved the highest overall position in those results.
8.6 Should any of these provisions above fail to resolve the tie, the Series Organisers & Promoters may nominate the winner of the tie based on such considerations as they deem appropriate.
9.2 RACMSA General Regulation O 3.5 is modified as follows:
9.2.1 Any competitor EXCLUDED from any event in the Series by reason of having an ineligible vehicle will be subject to the following Series penalties:
First Offence:- count the event as one of the events contributing to his total Series score (Article 7.1.3) i.e. count a zero score.
Second Offence:- be excluded from the Series and forfeit any Series awards.
9.2.2 Any competitor excluded from an event in the Series for any other infringement will not be subject to any additional penalty other than the loss of any points that he might otherwise have scored on that event.
9.3 Any vehicle which fails to satisfy the RACMSA Scrutineers at pre-event Scrutineering, in respect of Safety or Technical Regulations, will not be permitted to start that event.
9.3.1 Furthermore if a car is selected for post-event Scrutineering, then Results and Series points will remain provisional until the vehicle is inspected and approved by the Series Eligibility Scrutineer or his nominated deputy.
9.3.2 Any vehicle which is found to be ineligible at the conclusion of any event will be Excluded, NOT reclassified. The onus is always on a competitor to present a vehicle which conforms with eligibility for the class entered.
9.4 Noise: in addition to the pre-event Sound Test (E 13.1.17), the Organisers of each qualifying round will appoint Judges of Fact to adjudicate on any instances of instantaneous factual occurrence or any other abnormal sound levels. They will report their findings to the Chief Scrutineer who will advise the Clerk of the Course who will then apply the appropriate penalty. Competitors should pay particular heed to RACMSA Yearbook, C11 and C12.
