The format of the Silver Star and Gold Star Championships has proven popular with increased competitor participants last year. The categories, classes and rewards have been reviewed and expanded for the new season.
The BTRDA are very grateful for the continued sponsorship of Peugeot Sport for the Gold Star Championship and Clear System Solutions for the Silver Star Championship. We acknowledge the contribution, support and generous bonus schemes offered by various trade suppliers on all Championship rounds.
For the Peugeot 106 and 306 competitors, a cash bonus scheme has been put in place, with the first three cars of each model on each event have £500 shared between them.
And for all competitors, you have the best run, and most competitive rally championship in the UK to compete in.
What more could you ask for?
Market research continues to show that competitors and other British Championships view the Clear System Solutions Silver Star Championship as the stepping stone for recognition at the British national level. We are proud to be able to offer a platform where old, current and evolving motor technology can be matched with driving skill in an open forum.
Clear System Solutions are Information Technology Specialists and provide computerisation application development, consultancy and training. The company has been expanding its activities and are focused in sharing its marketing aims alongside motorsport.
We wish participants a safe and successful 1999 season in a competitive and sporting rallysport environment.
Drivers can register for either the Peugeot Sport Gold Star Championship or the Clear System Solutions Silver Star Championship but cannot score points for both championships on any one event.
In order for either to score points both must be registered for the Series and must register with the BTRDA representative at each event. However after Round 5 of the Series registered drivers and co-drivers may compete individually and still be eligible to score points.
Championship results and bulletins containing details of any changes in the Championships will be sent to registered competitors at intervals throughout the year.
In addition to complying with MSA Technical and Safety Regulations, eligible cars may only be modified in the manner described in the 1999 FIA Yearbook. Allowed modifications published in the monthly official FIA Motor Sports Bulletin may be incorporated at the date given.
Valid homologation papers, perforated by FIA or MSA, must be carried within the car and be available for inspection by Scrutineers or other officials of the event or Championship.
