North Humberside Forest Rally 1997

The Japanese Dozen

With less than a week to go to the close of entries for the North Humberside Forest Rally, no less than 12 Nissan Micras have entered for the first round of the one make series. The most recent of the one make championships makes its debut on the North Humberside event and should prove interesting with the mix of high speed tarmac on the Olivers Mount motorcycle circuit and the long fast riggs of the Dalby Forest complex.

The organisers have well in excess of 100 entries to date for the seven stage event with, amongst others, West Auckland's Julian Porter using the event to test his Mitsubishi Lancer for the British Championship and a strong possibility to break the stranglehold Ford have had on winning the event since it became a Forest rally in 1988.

A returnee to this year's event, which takes place on Saturday 5th April, and this year registered for the BTRDA Silver Star Series is Bradford housewife Pam Lukeman who made her debut on this event last year in her fluorescent yellow Sapphire Cosworth and was just out to have a good time.

Entries for the 45 stage mile event close on Thursday 27th March, Further details can be obtained from
Alan Carvell on 01482 840756.
